More than half of all enterprises will rely on cloud-based or hybrid human resource solutions by 2020 — more than twice the amount that do today, according to a new report.
Customers have been left with little choice, due to leading on-premise HR software vendors shifting nearly all their development efforts to the cloud. Global technology research and advisory firm Information Services Group, which produced the report, predicted vendors will increasingly phase out support for legacy HR systems that are on-premise.
Although a number of organizations will undoubtedly need time to transition from their current human resource solutions to new ones, by 2020, more than 75 percent expect to have migrated at least one HR system to the cloud, according to the report.
