Developers, designers, UI/UX specialists and other highly skilled professionals are in demand — and more than half of CIOs and advertising and marketing executives are concerned about retaining them during the next 12 months, according to new research from Robert Half Technology and The Creative Group.
Almost a quarter of tech executives said unexpectedly losing a team member would have a significant impact on their business, due to issues replacing the person.
The most frequent causes of turnover include limited chances for career growth (30 percent), job boredom (21 percent) and inadequate compensation and benefits (20 percent).
To combat the problem, employers are using a number of methods to keep highly skilled professionals on board — including regularly checking in with them about their happiness level and engaging in conversations about their performance and career development opportunities.
