Generation Z, scheduled to start entering the workplace in earnest in 2017, has work preferences that more closely echo Generation X employees, instead of what millennials want, according to new research.
The study, from communications-as-a-service provider 8×8, Inc., found Gen Z members are less tech dependent than millennials and use face-to-face communication more than any other generation, including Generation X employees.
The items Gen Z prefers to use to perform work also differ. The majority of millennials say they want tools that will save them the most time; Gen Z, on the other hand, wants to use the most effective tools, even if it takes more time.
