Tech functions, in general, are flourishing in multiple different regions
The artificial intelligence specialist position has seen the largest sustained year-over-year hiring growth in the U.K., Australia, Singapore and the U.S., according to a recent report from LinkedIn.
Eighteen times more workers are now employed in an artificial intelligence specialist role than just five years ago in the U.K. In the past four years, the U.S. has seen an annual hiring growth of 74 percent for the position.
In general, skills associated with the AI specialist role appear to be in demand. All of Australia’s top five emerging jobs — artificial intelligence specialist, cybersecurity specialist, marketing automation specialist, robotics engineer and site reliability engineer — feature automation or AI skills.
In the U.K., data protection officer and robotics engineer are the second and third top emerging jobs. In addition to tech role growth, the U.K. is also experiencing an expansion in human-facing support industries, such as customer success specialist positions.
Expanded mental health insurance coverage is increasing the demand for behavioral health professionals in the U.S., according to the report. Hiring growth for behavioral health technicians has risen 32 percent year over year since 2015.
In Singapore, aside from the artificial intelligence specialist position, software-related robotics engineer and full stack engineer roles have seen the most growth.
