One in five people are in the wrong role, working in jobs they are not motivated by, engaged with or productive in, according to newly released research.
Based on interviews with more than 4,600 people across 20 countries, the research found that to increase employee engagement and productivity, companies need to invest in career mobility and help employees develop skills and gain experience in ways that suit them — such as online, in-person and on-the job training.
The survey results also suggest combining coaching with innovative technology may help match employees to the right positions and increase employee engagement by 40 percent.
